In 2021, a team in the SAME Leader Development Program began researching how to conduct STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) outreach to American Indian/Alaska Native audiences in the K- 12 age range. This project grew into a program operating at four sites across the U.S., funded by the United Engineering Foundation and SAME Foundation. Now completing its second year and ready for the third, STEM Pathways for Indigenous Youth has developed several tools for culturally sensitive interactions.
