One of the major challenges with the deployment of EV charging systems concerns the impact on electric infrastructure from nearby transmission and distribution systems. Considerations such as having enough available amps, the ability of the distribution system to handle the extra loads, and how to configure chargers for the fleet are only some of the issues faced when deploying an EV charging system. This session will highlight these concerns and some recent solutions implemented by the US Postal Service that solve the infrastructure challenge.
